NEW BRAID HAIRSTYLE TUTORIAL – THE TWIST BRAID UPDO
Step-by-step tutorial:
- Brush your hair to remove any knots before you begin to braid.
- Start by taking a section of hair at the front of your head. I usually take a two-inch section from my natural part. Split this section in to three equal sections.
- Begin a Dutch braid. This is the reverse of a French braid. Take the left section under the middle, and the right section under the left. Add in a small section of hair to the middle piece and bring that under the right section.
- Continue braiding down the back of your head, adding in small sections of hair as you go. Always bring the hair underneath so that your braid sits on top of your hair.
- Take a slight diagonal angle with your braid from the top left of your head to the bottom right. Once you reach the end of your hair, finish in a reverse braid and secure the end of your hair with a clear elastic.
- Stretch out your braid to emphasize the shape of your hair. Gently pull at the sides of the braid to loosen it. This will make your hair look thicker.
- Twist the end of your braid up and around to sit next to the first part of your braid. Pin in place with bobby pins and make sure to tuck the ends of your hair under your braid.
STYLING TIPS
- Use a clear elastic – or make sure you tuck the ends of your hair right in under your braid! Lucky I used a small, clear elastic or it would really stand out in the finished style.
- Short hair variation: Dutch braids work well in short hair (check out these Dutch braids in short hair) and often hold better than French braids. If your hair is not long enough to twist around at the end, simple tuck the ends under and pin it at the nape of your neck.
- Long hair variation: If your hair is longer than mine then you may need to do more than one twist. Try twisting the end of your braid around and pinning it alongside the first part of your braid. If your reach the top then your hair must be really long! In this case, I’d create an s-shaped twist and pin your braid in place behind your left ear.
- Curly hair variation: This style looks great in curly hair (it’s similar to this curly hair Dutch braid tutorial). Just skip step one, unless you want a mane of frizz! source

1. Dutch braid both sides of a middle part and tie them off with a clear elastic.
2. Pull apart/pancake both braids to make them nice and chunky.
2. Pull apart/pancake both braids to make them nice and chunky.
4. Take the hair above the braid you just made and the two Dutch braids and create a messy bun
5. Wrap the three-strand braid around the messy bun.
6. Pin the ends in place and hairspray. And you’re done!! source

Butt Workouts For Women at Home
Smith Machine Squat
To begin, first set the bar on the height that best matches your height. Once the correct height is chosen and the bar is loaded, step under the bar and place the back of your shoulders (slightly below the neck) across it.
Hold on to the bar using both arms at each side (palms facing forward), unlock it and lift it off the rack by first pushing with your legs and at the same time straightening your torso.
Position your legs using a shoulder width medium stance with the toes slightly pointed out. Keep your head up at all times and also maintain a straight back. This will be your starting position. (Note: For the purposes of this discussion we will use the medium stance which targets overall development; however you can choose any of the three stances discussed in the foot stances section).
Begin to slowly lower the bar by bending the knees as you maintain a straight posture with the head up. Continue down until the angle between the upper leg and the calves becomes slightly less than 90-degrees (which is the point in which the upper legs are below parallel to the floor). Inhale as you perform this portion of the movement. Tip: If you performed the exercise correctly, the front of the knees should make an imaginary straight line with the toes that is perpendicular to the front. If your knees are past that imaginary line (if they are past your toes) then you are placing undue stress on the knee and the exercise has been performed incorrectly.

Body Weight Squat
Stand with your feet shoulder width apart. You can place your hands behind your head. This will be your starting position.
Begin the movement by flexing your knees and hips, sitting back with your hips.
Continue down to full depth if you are able, and quickly reverse the motion until you return to the starting position. As you squat, keep your head and chest up and push your knees out.

Side Lunges
A side lunge is very similar to a front lunge, only instead of stepping directly forward with one leg, you’ll go forward and to the right (with your right leg) or left (with your left leg). Whew! It’s hard to keep your balance!
Donkey Kicks
Start on all fours, hands shoulder-width and knees hip-width apart. Keeping your right foot flexed and leg bent, raise your right leg and press your heel toward the ceiling until your foot is directly above your butt. Squeeze your glutes and slowly return to starting position but keep your knee off the ground. Repeat this 15 times and then switch legs.
Standing Lunges
Stand up straight, feet hip-width apart with toes pointing straight ahead.
Keep your hands on your hips.
Take a large step forward with your right leg.
Slowly bend your knees until both legs are nearly at right angles. The right knee should not extend over your toes and the left knee should not touch the floor.
Hold this position for 3 seconds, then step backward to the starting position.
Repeat 8 to 10 times with the first leg, then switch legs. source

Top Makeup Hacks To Look Younger Than You Actually Are

One of the main reasons a woman applies makeup on her face is to cover the signs of her real age. Even though beauty is the most desired final effect, never underestimate the factor of youth as your general priority in your appearance, as well. There are many ways professional makeup artists, as well as the most famous bloggers, have written about. We have, though, decided to gather only those tricks that really work and that would be helpful for each of you. So, do not waste even more time – because time is beauty and youth – and check out the top makeup hacks to look younger than you actually are right away.
The illusion with the lifted brows can be easily done with a set of makeup tools and products for eyebrows. When you curve your brows and create the best shape for your face, measure twice and cut once. Then, apply the best eye brow pencil you`ve got and highlight with at least one darker shade at the edges for a better accent.
2. Get some glossy look of your lips
The gloss is supposed to be quite light, because otherwise, you will look one of those mums that can be defined with a difficulty whether they are mums or sisters. Also, put the gloss only in the centre of your lips – to get a slight sexy makeup idea with no obtrusive essence.
3. Mascara or fake eye lashes?
In both cases, your look is what determines you as a younger woman, so if you do not have enough time to apply good and decent mascara every day, consider having at least 2 ordinary eye lashes pairs.
4. You are not old and colours are allowed!
Ok, natural makeup is real a standard in beauty, but just because you have already passed your 30s, it does not mean you are forbidden to wear any bright shades. On the contrary, there are awesome nuances that can as a matter of fact, reduce at least 10 years away from your look – green, peach, light purple, deep chocolate and etc.
5. Lips with darker shade
Speaking of shades, when you pick up a lipstick shade, rely on darker nuances. Red is not only choice, because you can actually go for an awesome brown, sparkling pink with beige reflection and even a more natural plum idea.
6. Purchase a foundation with gold nuanceThe ideal foundation shade for you is the one with gold nuance. This is the best colour for both – women above 50s and those, who are nearly them. To tell you the truth, though, as a very popular and modern shade these days, girls under 30s also prefer the gold-styled foundation, so you will not have any difficulties to find such.
Oil Cleansing Method

MUST READ, I use this when I wear liquid foundation and it works great! For days when I don't wear much makeup I wash my face with RAW ORGANIC HONEY, you will NEVER buy face wash again. Skin will be soft, acne scars fade, pimples will reduce after a week once all of the gunk is out of your pores. source

21 Ways To Lose 10 Pounds In A Week

The best part is that these strategies not only enable you to lose ten pounds in a week’s time, but also help you to maintain a healthy weight in the long run.
21 Best Ways to Lose 10 Pounds in a Week:
Listed below are the best effective ways you should follow strictly in your everyday regime for a healthy weight.
Nutrition:
Nutrition is one of the most important parameters that should be kept in mind while following a weight loss regime. Having a balanced diet is important to ensure that you don’t feel nutrition deprived. If you want to lose ten pounds in a week, you need to take care of the following things in terms of nutrition.
1. Consume Fewer Calories Than You Burn:
Watching your calories is of prime importance when you are trying to lose weight. In fact, the secret to weight loss is to consume fewer calories than you burn. It should be kept in mind that one pound of fat is equivalent to 3500 calories. Thus, you need to burn 3500 calories more than you take in with food. But this does not mean that you go into starvation mode. All you need to do is shave off 500 calories in a day through dietary changes and exercise to avoid gaining 1 to 2 pounds each year. Instead of resorting to crash dieting, it is advisable to consume about 1200 to 1600 calories daily and keep a food journal to count your calorie consumption.
2. Burn 5000 Calories More Than You Take In
In order to lose 10 pounds in a week, you need to burn 5000 more calories than you take in per day. Agreed, that’s too much for an average person, but you have to push yourself to achieve this goal. Also, it should be kept in mind that an average person burns about 2000 calories while doing normal routine activities. This means that if you consume exactly 2000 calories through food every day, you will neither gain nor lose weight. To burn extra calories, you can make simple changes in your lifestyle like walking instead of driving, taking stairs instead of the lift and simply breathing.
3. Do Not Skip Breakfast:
Breakfast is, undoubtedly, one of the most important meals of the day and skipping it in an urge to cut calories is not at all a great option. In fact, several studies have shown that people who had breakfast regularly had comparatively lower BMIs than breakfast skippers. So, kick start your day a healthy and nutritious way by having a bowl of oatmeal or whole grain cereal topped with fruit or low fat dairy. You can also have scrambled eggs to fulfil your protein requirements, but avoid heavy and oily foods for breakfast.
How To Get Rid Of Wrinkles
Vitamin C
The beauty industry has long known that vitamin C — in food and cream form — is vital for good skin. The nutrient helps form collagen and elastin (essential to keep the skin looking plump, taut and young) as well as acting as an antioxidant to protect us from the harsh effects of the environment, such as UV rays, pollution and a bad diet.
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil contains antioxidants that protect your body from damage caused by free radicals. It also contains antifungal and antibacterial properties that may aid in the healing of your skin. According to OrganicFacts.net, your body converts lauric acid into monolaurin, which may help in dealing with certain viruses and bacteria like herpes and influenza. In addition, it may fight harmful bacteria like monocytogenes and protozoa, such as giardia lamblia. When used as massage oil for the skin, coconut oil is also an effective moisturizer.

HALF CROWN BRAID
This easy braided hairstyle gives you the best of both worlds. You can wear your hair out but also keep your hair back from your face. If you have a fringe or bangs your can leave them loose or pin them back with bobby pins.
STEP-BY-STEP
This easy braided hairstyle work in curly and straight hair. I wore this style in my wavy hair that you can see in myoutfit post.
You’ll need two small clear hair elastics and bobby pins to do the half crown braid in your hair.
- Start by taking a 1-2 inch section of hair on one side of your hair above your ear. Split this section in three and make a braid (plait).
- Angle the braid back around your head and secure the end of the braid with a small clear hair elastic.
- Repeat on the other side, taking a section above your ear and making a braid (plait). Secure the end with a small clear elastic.
- Bring the first braid across the back of your head and pin in place with bobby pins.
- Cross the second braid over the first and tuck the end in behind the first braid. Secure in place with bobby pins.
STYLING TIPS
- Use small hair elastics as they are easier to hide in the finished hairstyle.
- Stretch out your braids before pinning them in place. This emphasises the shape of the braid and makes your hair look thicker.
- If you hair is long you can fold the braids in half before pinning them at the back of your head.
Thank you for your lovely comments on my first outfit post and on facebook! I hope you try this hairstyle too. Let me know how you would wear it. source

Pretty hair red lips

Once again, we’re delighted to share a basic makeup tutorial from Los Angeles based makeup artist, Amy Clarke. She has created this lovely tutorial along with one of our favorite photographers, Bryce Covey, to detail and demonstrate how to perfect the art of contouring and highlighting using makeup.
Take these tips from Amy to add to your ever-growing arsenal of makeup techniques. We know how difficult it is to get straight information when you’re looking through hundreds of turorials on how to perfect a makeup skill (to use bronzer or not to use bronzer?!) but as always, Amy has made it easier than ever for you to learn how to use your natural bone structure and just a few key pieces of makeup to contour and highlight your best features. Use this basic makeup tip to kick your daily beauty routine up a notch!
Contour & Highlight:1.+ 2. Apply one layer of foundation or tinted moisturizer all over face. I used Tarte’s BB Cream in “Medium Light”. Using a foundation brush and a cream concealer (2 to 3 times lighter than your skin tone), apply concealer (the highlight) to the under eyes, down the sides of the nose, and brushed back and upward toward the hairline.
3. Using the same concealer, highlight the center of the forehead and down the bridge of the nose, upper lip, center of the chin and on your brow bone. Lastly, apply the concealer to the jawline, just under your cheekbones.
4. Once you’ve finished with all the highlighting, it’s time to apply the contour. Pick a cool-toned cream concealer or foundation thats 2 to 3 shades darker than your skin tone. Taking a smaller, stiff brush or foundation brush, apply the contour cream to the hallows of your cheeks, just below your cheekbone, all the way to your hairline.
5.+ 6. +7. Apply the same color to your forehead near your hairline, temples, jawline, the sides of your neck and to the sides of your nose.
8. Using a wet Beauty Blender or Duo Fiber Blending Brush, blend all the contour and highlighter together until there is no more distinction between the two colors.
9. Lastly, Apply a light dusting of blush, and set all the highlight with a loose powder using a small natural bristled brush. I used Tarte’s 12 Hour Amazonian Clay Blush in “Tipsy” and Make Up For Ever’s Super Matte Loose Powder in “Translucent Natural”.
Pro Tip: You can use cream or powders to contour or highlight, creams are easier to blend and tend to look more natural. Avoid using bronzer to contour. You are creating a “shadow” so think of a color that’s similar to an actual shadow, which tends to be a cooler tone. Use Bronzer to warm up your skin and make it look sun-kissed!

ELF whipped highlighters
I've been using Benefit's High Beam for a few years and it's something in my makeup bag that varies from using it every single day to months without wear.
Then I saw this pin on Pinterest...
which took me to her blog post about the e.l.f. Shimmering Facial Whip and I decided that for a $1 I could pick it up on my next Target run. I mean, I love her makeup in the pic, I love any makeup that highlights, and if the product sucked and I threw it out after one use, I'm only out a buck.
Here's the Benefit High Beam side by side with the e.l.f. Shimmering Facial Whip in Lilac Petal
I couldn't believe that the e.l.f. Facial Whip gave more color than the Benefit High Beam! In fact, I washed it off and did it again to be sure I had the products right and sure enough the e.l.f. gave more color.
Ok, here are the products stats:
-Size: 0.45 oz
-Price: $26.00
-Deemed it's a "supermodel in a bottle"
-Made for all skin tones
-Size: 0.34 oz
-Price: $1.00
-Deemed to "brighten and soothe skin with no greasy after-feel"
-Multipurpose- made to be worn anywhere on face/body
Here are my reviews of how the two compare:
-The Benefit High Beam blends easier and is more sheer while the e.l.f. Shimmering Facial Whip I find to be thicker and harder to blend. T
-The BHB blends well both before and after my face powder, where as the ESFW blends best before my powder (I just powder around where I've highlighted or work harder in my blending if used afterwards).
-I like the look of both highlighters, they're so similar in outcome I can barely tell the difference when wearing them.
-The ESFW lasts longer and gives more color than BHB (it's less pink than ESFW), but you can apply less product if you want a more sheer look.
-Both look great alone or mixed with foundation/lotion and don't ruin your base by putting them on even though they're liquid.
-A little goes a long way for both products
Overall:
Save yourself $25 and buy the e.l.f. Shimmering Facial Whip. Although it's not quite as blendable, I think it's a better product altogether. I don't have anything against the Benefit High Beam and still like the product, there's just no point in buying it when there's another product that is equal in comparison. Plus, the e.l.f. Shimmering Facial Whip comes in several colors that I think makes it superior for people of different skin tones and types.
Do you use a highlighter? Have you tried these two products? What are your thoughts on how they compare?
